the pandemic gave us a reason to slow down and take stock. We found ourselves soaking up more family time, breathing deeper, and spending more hours outside than in.
We started dabbling in gardening—just a little dirt, a few plants, and zero expectations. Turns out, we weren’t too bad at it. 😉 Even our daughter jumped right in, happily covered in soil and sniffing every lavender stem she could find.
Somewhere between the digging, the giggles, and the scent of blooming lavender, a dream started to grow. And just like that, Malohn Lavender began to sprout.
ABOUT MALOHN LAVENDER
Between the bugs, the dirt, and a long history of accidentally killing every houseplant we ever owned, no one—ourselves included—would’ve guessed Malohn Lavender was in the cards ten years ago. But life has a way of surprising you. You travel, try new things, reset your priorities, and figure out what really matters.
Then one summer day, you catch the scent of lavender drifting through the breeze, see the field in full bloom, and feel that deep, instant calm. That’s when it clicks: this is why we chose lavender.
We’re incredibly grateful to have family who supported this dream from the start and offered us land to rent while we grow. We began with soil samples (lavender is picky!), and once we had the green light, we planted our first 40 English lavender plants—multiple varieties, all chosen with care. Each year, we add more. And while we’re still searching for the right property to call our forever farm, the dream keeps blooming.

That’s why we don’t use pesticides on our lavender. Believe us, the weeds are no joke… but we’re up for the challenge. (Plus, pulling them counts as a workout!)
